Amorgos is a remarkably unspoiled island at the south-eastern edge of the Cyclades group, where traditional customs are still inextricably interwoven into a landscape as rich in beauty as in its history and culture. Originally inhabited by seafarers from Asia Minor in the 4th Century BC, the island now cradles people who enjoy a lifestyle that has been shaped by a varied and dramatic past. This is a place that appears untouched by time, but where the inhabitants quietly preserve one of the best kept secrets of the Aegean.
The island was first inhabited during the Neolithic period and 14 sites dating from the Early Cycladic period have been excavated so far. In antiquity, there were three main cities on Amorgos, all founded in the 7th and 6th centuries BCE. Remains of all three can still be seen. The island played an important role in antiquity, due to its special geographic location. During the Medieval era, Amorgos was ruled by the Dukes of Naxos, but after the Byzantine Empire was restored in Constantinople, Amorgos was recaptured in 1268. Before the end of the century, however, the Venetians and Genoese defeated the Byzantines and Amorgos returned to the rule of the Dukes of Naxos until the Ottomans captured the island in 1566.

Kelley is the studio co-owner and director of Evolve Yoga + Wellness. A yogi, mama of 3, and LEO wife living in Southern Maryland.
Yoga, movement, and breath connection have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. From growing up as a dancer to strength training, to movement on my mat. The focus on presence and mindfulness has provided me with great stability and release.
Kelley holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Dance minor from Frostburg State University. In 2008 she received her 200-hour yoga certification with Sunstone Yoga in and completed the 500-hour, Advanced Yoga Teacher Training, with Kim Manfredi and Charm City Yoga in 2013. As an E-RYT 500, Kelley is also a certified prenatal yoga and Barre teacher. She’s studied with the International Institute of Integrative Nutrition as a Holistic Health Practitioner and is a Certified Personal Trainer.
Emily is an RYT-500, Reiki Master, and mother of 2. Around 2014, she was a stay-at-home mom, and her passion for yoga began like many others: right on Youtube when it was first growing online. Child care and two littles meant not leaving the home much, so her personal practice became a form of movement therapy during nap times.
After a few years of dedicated home practice, her desire to seek more on the teachings of yoga became a priority, and signed up for a 500hr YTT program in 2019 through My Vinyasa Practice, a studio based in Austin, Texas. Her studies are focused on Iyengar Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Vinyasa, and Restorative. She's currently pursuing training in Tantra Yoga and Prenatal.
